CHARLOTTE SONJON



Here is a young and wonderfully promising estate created by Charlotte Sonjon in Brison Saint-innocent, more precisely on the right bank of Lake Bourget, north of Aix-les-Bains. 

Originally from Annecy, and trained as an agricultural engineer, she spent several years in Provence before returning to her native Savoy . With this technical background, she worked for a time with Mathieu Goury at the fabulous Chevillard estate, a pivotal encounter that led her to discover a small, 1.5-hectare hillside sloping down to the lake and facing due west.

Production is currently limited ( 5,000 bottles in 2021 ), but the feeling that something special is happening on these tranquil shores is evident from the very first sip. These are finely crafted, precise wines, imbued with a strong Alpine identity tempered by the gentle lakeside atmosphere.

Vineyard restoration, new plantings, a few additional plots of vines, and many future projects are being carefully planned with unwavering determination. There's no doubt this estate will quickly become a benchmark for the region.

Where time seemed to have stopped, a great winemaker of tomorrow calmly emerges.
