Moreau-Naudet, the quintessence of Chablis terroirs

The Chablis vineyards are located 160 km north of Beaune, making them closer to Champagne than to the rest of Burgundy. The cool climate and limestone soils dating back to the Kimmeridgian period (limestone formed from prehistoric oyster shells) give Chablis a unique aroma, quite distinct from other Burgundy wines. Here, only the Chardonnay grape reigns supreme, producing wines with exceptional longevity.

Following the death of her husband in 2016, Virginie Moreau firmly took over the reins of this 25-hectare estate, rich in Premier and Grand Cru vineyards. Meticulous viticulture and long, controlled aging (18 to 22 months) are the golden rules here for producing Chablis that are both easy to drink and delicately aromatic. This precision work has allowed the estate to become one of the most respected names in the Chablis wine region.
