Château de Bonnezeaux, the elite of Anjou

Long left to decay, the Château de Bonnezeaux has awakened with strength and vitality under the aegis of Guyonne Saclier de la Bâtie, whose family has owned the place since time immemorial.

This latest development marks the rebirth of this historic property in Anjou Noir, whose history dates back to the beginning of the 19th century , but which saw wine production cease in the 1980s and the vines entrusted to local winegrowers.

From 2012 onwards, Guyonne aimed to restore the prestige of this exceptional estate. And to achieve this, what better way than to train with the region's greatest masters, Mark Angeli and Stéphane Bernaudeau , two virtuosos of Chenin whose bottles are ardently sought after by enthusiasts worldwide.

In 2014, the restructuring of the vineyards began, culminating in the release of the first vintage in 2016, a limited production of just 2,000 bottles! Following the work of his two mentors, Guyonne manages the estate with respect for the living environment and the vines , using no chemical inputs and little to no sulfur, depending on the cuvée and vintage. Similarly, you won't be surprised to see a similarity in the labels and the refusal to seek official accreditation. Simply bottled as Vin de France, these wines are nonetheless the finest expression of the great dry, taut, and concentrated Chenin Blancs that the fabulous terroir of Bonnezeaux is capable of producing.
