Alex Martin, the emergence of a young talent in the Saumur region

Here is a winemaker we are delighted to support from the very beginning under his own name: Alex Martin . He is no newcomer, for after working for several years at the renowned Clos Rougeard and for Thierry Michon, he decided to take over the family vineyards in Montreuil-Bellay, a village well-known to lovers of Loire wines. He meticulously crafts single-vineyard wines that reflect the ampelographic and geological diversity of the area—in short, the very essence of Saumur wines.

For this inaugural 2023 vintage, only one hectare of Chenin Blanc was planted. And the first impression, without getting too technical, is that it's frankly excellent! A true success that blends complexity with immediate pleasure. The kind of wine you buy in a carton! Production is limited, so don't hesitate.

Given this highly accomplished first draft, we are eager to closely follow the adventure of this very promising field.
