Gour de Chaulé, the Gigondas sculpted in lacework

Domaine Gour de Chaulé is a property that can be considered one of the historical figures of the Gigondas appellation, as its wines have been bottled and sold since 1970. It is a family story that has unfolded here, that of the Fumoso family. Today, Paul, representing the third generation, is one of the most promising young talents in the southern Rhône Valley.

This 10-hectare property is composed of numerous plots with different soils and exposures, like musical notes, through which a true ode to finesse and to a grape variety that reigns supreme here is played: Grenache .

Since Paul took over the estate, the wines have reached a whole new level, sparking a well-deserved enthusiasm among enthusiasts for the fine wines produced here. The wines are crafted with precision, favoring extended aging in concrete tanks and large oak casks. Far from the heaviness, rusticity, or excessive ripeness that sometimes plague this centuries-old appellation, the wines produced are precise, focused on finesse , yet with ample substance. It's best to open them in advance to allow their aromas to fully develop, or even better, to cellar them. Those who are patient will be rewarded.
