Jean-François Essler, the purity of the Jura

Based in Val Sonnette, in the southern Revermont region, Jean-François Essler crafts wines of rare vibrancy.
We were lucky enough to discover his work before the summer and we are receiving his wines just as his name is starting to circulate. Outside our borders, among the most discerning importers. No one is a prophet in their own land!
A disciple of organic farming, Jean-François has gifted us with three exquisitely crafted wines. A 2020 Chardonnay aged for 24 months in barrels followed by a year in bottle. A precise wine, a true expression of the land. Ready to drink now for those in a hurry, but one that will age gracefully. As for the reds, you'll find two signature grape varieties: a Poulsard and a Trousseau, both in a pure and ethereal style. These two wines should be cellared for two to three years to fully appreciate their essence. Or at the very least, wait until next spring, which promises a truly delightful tasting experience. For the 2023 vintage, Pinot Noir and a touch of Savagnin will complete the lineup, and we eagerly await its release.
Those who have been lucky enough to acquire a few bottles from Cabaret des Oiseaux should take a very close interest in this estate, which is destined for a bright future .
