Fazenda Pradio, vertigo in the Ribeira Sacra

It is in the heart of Galicia that the deepest canyons in Europe are found, and where viticulture, due to its vertiginous slopes, is described as heroic.
Nestled in the meanders of the Rio Sil, on steep slopes, lies one of the most beautiful estates in the Ribeira Sacra : Fazenda Agricola Pradio. This 5-hectare estate, with only 10,000 vines, produces a mere 10,000 to 15,000 bottles in a good vintage, but these wines are among the finest and most precise in the entire appellation. Half of the production is dedicated to Mencía, a delicate and subtly spiced grape. The other half is a true homage to the old Galician indigenous grape varieties that Xabi was able to reintroduce by sourcing cuttings from the region's best winemakers.
The small size of the estate allows for meticulous, handcrafted winemaking. Taking advantage of the sloping terrain, vinification is carried out using gravity to minimize intervention and contact with oxygen. Meanwhile, aging is carefully controlled to avoid overpowering the wines and to fully express the minerality of these exceptional granite terroirs.
If this region with its Atlantic climate is a must-see, then you must taste the finesse of the wines from this estate.
