Domaine de Chevillard, at the summit of Savoy

Located in Saint-Pierre d'Albigny, in the Combe de Savoie , at the entrance to the French Alps , the Chevillard estate, headed by the jovial and no less conscientious Mathieu Goury, is one of the driving forces behind the prodigious qualitative renewal of Alpine wines.
Drawing on a rich heritage of distinctive grape varieties, cultivated entirely according to organic farming principles, this estate prioritizes minimal intervention winemaking, using indigenous yeasts, extended aging, and late release of its wines. With wisdom, Mathieu allows the magic of time to work its charm, refining the wines in the vaulted cellars of the house, dating back to 1703, where everything is done by gravity across three levels: pressing on the upper floor, vatting on the ground floor, and aging in the basement. At a time when we can legitimately question who is guarding the wines, we must applaud this thoughtful decision towards wine lovers.
Ultimately, Mathieu Goury tenaciously produces some of the most elegant , unique and authentic wines in the region, proving to us without surprise that Savoy is also a land of great wines.
