Domaine de la Renière, the great wines of Saumur from Thibaut Masse

Thibault Masse honed his skills at Guiberteau, an iconic Saumur estate, followed by several years of winemaking experience in Bordeaux, notably at the prestigious Château Cheval Blanc. In 2018, he had the opportunity to take over Domaine de la Renière, a historic estate in the Saumur appellation, located more precisely in Puy-Notre-Dame.

The estate is primarily planted with Chenin Blanc vines growing in tuffeau soil, the distinctive chalk so characteristic of the region. Rich in trace elements, it ensures a perfect water supply for the vines. The white wines display a fresh, vigorous, and taut profile. However, there is also room for some lovely Cabernet Francs, which are certainly not lacking, boasting a juicy, fruity, and vibrant character.

The estate has been certified organic since 2021, the wines are released late on the market, with long, original aging processes adapted to the uniqueness of each plot.
