Domaine de Chamée, to the north is the south

Domaine Chamée is the personal adventure of Marine and Hector, recently established on 5.5 hectares in the Ouvèze valley in the commune of Saint-Julien-en-Saint-Alban, this small wine-growing enclave is, along with Brezème, the southernmost vineyard of the northern Côtes-du-Rhône.
-
On the Piedmont of the Boutières, a mountain characteristic of the Ardèche and a foothill of the Massif Central, the vines are planted both on granite soils like the great northern Rhône terroirs, and, uniquely, on calcareous marls.
-
An original geographical situation (are we in the south of the northern Rhône valley or in the north of the southern Rhône valley?) which allows us to find both the typical grape varieties of the northern Rhône (Syrah, Marsanne...) but also those more southern (Grenache, Clairette, Bourboulenc...).
-
The result is balanced, easy-drinking wines that ultimately combine the austerity of the north with the richness of the south. Furthermore, new grape varieties are currently being planted, promising an even more exciting adventure.
