Domaine aux Moines, a neo-classical

Owned by the Laroche family Since 1981, this address has been well known to lovers of great dry Chenin Blancs from the schistous part of the Loire, also known as Anjou Noir. However, in recent vintages, and with Tessa Laroche 's complete takeover, the wines have reached an unprecedented level.

La Roche aux Moines, this rocky spur overlooking the Loire, this enclave within Savennières , is a distinct appellation within one of the Loire's greatest wines. The nobility of the terroir is undeniable, and Tessa's work in developing it is now truly remarkable.

Since 2017, the 12 hectares of vines, ideally located in one of the most famous crus in the entire Loire Valley, are  converted to organic farming and then step by step to biodynamic farming. 

Furthermore, the year 2020 also marks a turning point with a new cellar, gaining in precision , and a choice on the types of containers, of wood, more appropriate.

Ultimately, we are dealing with an estate that hasn't rested on its laurels. A property to discover or rediscover for lovers of exquisitely crafted Chenin Blancs , Grand Cru-style wines. Bottles that will stand the test of time.
